Deviation Actions
The hand that held the blade trembled as with tears in her eyes she slowly raised her gaze to meet his.
There he stood on the rocky shoreline, the human who took on the five fishermen, the blue eyed mortal who had saved her life.
Pain and sorrow lined his clean shaven face as he stared at her with wide eyes.
"PLEASE..." he repeated as he reached out toward her pleadingly. "Please stop! Don't...please don't cut anymore!"
Merl glanced down at the blade.
Even in the dim moonlight she could clearly see the blood on the blade.
Her blood.
Her heart ached as she again brought the blade to her scaly, now bleeding tail.
"It...it...it's the only way." Merl whispered as her voice and her dagger wielding hand trembled. Locking eyes with the man who saved her, the man her heart had gone out to. "It's the only way...for us! For us to be..."her voice trailed off as he gently yet firmly placed his right hand over the hand that held the knife.
She watched as warm tender smile crossed his lips.
"You don't need to change." he reassured as he too the knife away. "Not for me...not ever.'
